DISCOVERY FLIGHTS
On a discovery flight, one of our flight instructors will take you for a memorable flight of approximately 30 minutes total time from engine start to engine shut down. While you’re up, you will get the opportunity to try flying the plane under direct supervision of the instructor. You may bring along up to two friends or family members to enjoy the experience with you as long as the total weight of the three of you is not over 400 lbs.

Discovery flights are intended for people that are interested in exploring becoming a pilot as a profession and are not intended to be site seeing tours. If you would like to book a discovery flight please register here online. We cannot accept discovery flight registrations over the phone.
Cost: $330 including GST.
Please note that the Edmonton Flying Club is a registered non-profit organization, and the prices and fees listed are purely cost recovery for the services we provide. Our sole aim to is provide affordable flight training services to help our students fulfill their dreams of flight and find meaningful work in the aviation industry.

Registration: Purchases can ONLY be completed online (follow instructions below)
Propose your preferred dates (must be a minimum of 10 business days from the date of purchase) and complete the required information after clicking on the NEXT button below.
Once we receive your registration, our team will reach out to you to schedule actual dates and times based on weather, aircraft and instructor availability. Your proposed dates are only a guide to help us get close to your preferred dates if possible.
Edmonton Flying Club reserves the right to change scheduled dates to ensure the safety of flight and a pleasant experience for the passenger(s).
Terms & Conditions:
By completing your purchase, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Discovery Flights are non-transferrable.
- Proposed preferred dates are not guaranteed and subject to the suitability of weather, availability of aircraft and instructors.
- Please be aware that even after the initial booking has been confirmed it is subject to change due to weather, instructor availability or aircraft maintenance.
- Discovery Flights are valid for one year from the date of purchase. After the one year, unused flights will be voided and cannot be refunded.
- Rescheduling requests by you must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the booking by email to [email protected]. After this period, changes are not permitted.
- Failure to show up for your confirmed booking will result in forfeiture of the full amount.
Refund Policy:
- Failure to attend a confirmed booking or to provide at least 48 hours notice for rescheduling will result in forfeiture of the full purchase amount and will not be eligible for a refund.
- Eligible refunds are subject to a $30 admin fee.
